Robin is a comic book superhero co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger and published by DC Comics. Robin's first appearance was in Detective Comics #38 (1940). Robin, the boy wonder, is commonly referred to Batman's sidekick and often know together as the Dynamic Duo or the Caped Crusaders. There have been four people that took the mantle of Robin: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Stephanie Brown.

Nightwing was first depicted in Superman (Vol. 1) Issue #158 in January of 1963 where a pre-crisis Superman used the name Nightwing as an alias. In 1984, after retiring from his role as Robin, Dick Grayson takes on a new alias and names himself Nightwing to honor both Batman and Superman.
